Waltham, MA – September 10, 2019: C&K, a leading manufacturer of high-reliability electromechanical switches, announces Interposer, a flux-free interconnect solution designed specifically for the aerospace industry in a High reliability, customizable way to connect two printed circuit boards.

The Interposer features spring-loaded contacts for easy, flux-free installation and removal. A direct connection is formed, eliminating the need for a wiring solution, and can be easily plugged and unplugged, making design and integration simple.

To maximize design flexibility, C&K has come up with an easy-to-use “Custom Interposer” concept that allows customers to combine and match a variety of options to create the Interposer required for a specific application.

The new interconnect utilizes C&K’s proven Starclip contact technology. This means that the electrical contact function is independent of the pressure applied by the spring, so the joint provides a stable low contact resistance regardless of the applied pressure or distance traveled.

Intended application areas include aerospace equipment, satellite payloads, high performance avionics/military and engineering test equipment. These interconnects are non-outgassing, have gold-plated contacts, and operate over a temperature range of -55°C to +125°C. They comply with the CS FR051 C&K specification based on ESA/ESCC specification 3401.
