Siemens Digital Industries Software recently signed an agreement with Spanish multinational SENER to acquire its FORAN software business. SENER is a leader in engineering technology, and FORAN is SENER’s CAD/CAE/CAM software for the design, construction and engineering of marine and marine structures. The addition of FORAN products, teams and its customer base will bring Siemens a wealth of industry experience and comprehensive expertise covering a variety of complex commercial marine projects, defense standards and regulatory compliance. SENER Group will retain and continue to improve its traditional marine engineering business line, dedicated to providing design, engineering and consulting services for different types of ships and offshore vessels.
Post-acquisition FORAN will join Siemens’ Xcelerator solution portfolio, providing integrated software and services across the vessel lifecycle, from conceptual design to production, to operations and optimization service lifecycle management.
